Courtney LeMarco founded The LeMarco Group and leads its work across Asia, North America and Europe from Tokyo.

Over more than 25 years he has built companies in media, advertising and entertainment, partnering with Neiman Marcus, Amazon, the U.S. Department of Defense, Condé Nast, Comcast and Disney.

As Executive Producer and Showrunner he led more than 50 episodes of Hoarders, the Emmy-nominated A&E series, after taking over the franchise. Under his team the show moved to a two-hour, single-story format, delivered two seasons through the pandemic and twice reached Netflix’s global Top 10.

In film he has financed and produced features including Artik and The Place We Hide. He is an Executive Producer on Mister, the Thunder Road action-comedy starring Walton Goggins and Chloë Grace Moretz, where The LeMarco Group is part of the finance team.

He relocated to Tokyo to lead the company’s expansion into Asia, building production in Japan and film finance in Hong Kong alongside its US operations. He creates and develops much of the company’s slate, including Welcome to Hollywood, Rich Broke and The Shinsei Saga.

A California native, he has lectured at the University of Washington, served three years on the City of Seattle Small Business Task Force by appointment of Mayor Paul Schell, and has appeared on CNBC’s Nightly Business Report.

How he works

Built for the world from day one

Projects are developed for international audiences from the first page, not adapted for them later.

Producer and financier in one seat

He reads a budget like a financier and a script like a showrunner, and builds the company to do the same.

Partners, not placements

Brands and financiers are brought inside the work early, where they add value to the story rather than interrupt it.
